A message from our President, David Heaslip

I hope everyone thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful warm, sunny summer. We are now quickly sliding into fall, which in the southern Georgian Bay area can often be the finest season of the year. The Probus Mountain View season of meetings, speakers, events and activities is also well underway. i encourage you to participate and enjoy!

I am sure we all agree we are extremely lucky to live in the marvellous community of Collingwood. Our town and region are growing and changing rapidly. We have a chance to take part in directing our future. We all need to get a feel for the issues, check-out the candidates and get out to vote later this month.

Best wishes! Have fun!
David Heaslip

President

Expression of Interest

Expression of Interest

What activities are missing from our club?

New Members. Are there interest groups or activities that you would like to join, but they are full up already?

Older members. Do you have ideas for new activities but you are not sure if there are enough people who are interested to make it work?

At the next General Meeting in October, we will have a desk set up so that we can get your ideas and your "expressions of interest". After that the Social Committee will review all of the input and see what they can do about meeting the demand. So, give it some thought, what would you be interested in joining and give us your input.

Gaslight Theatre night - TOUR

Gaslight Theatre night - TOUR

Nov 1

Founded in 2010, Gaslight Tour features local history as theatre. Each year an historic theme is selected to tell the story of a particular aspect of Collingwood’s history. Tour participants visit 4 of the town’s historic sites selected to host the year’s productions. In each of these settings participants become the audience for an original historic tale, written by a local playwright. The plays, set to the year’s theme, portray colourful stories about the town’s local history. After visiting the 4 venues participants complete their tour with refreshments in a venue set up as an historic tearoom.

Check the Tour time on your ticket and arrive 15 minutes earlier. The meeting place is the Free Schools Room at the back entrance of the Collingwood Public Library.

Ladies darts outing

Ladies darts outing

There was a great turnout on Thursday, September 27th. It was a lot of fun with plenty of laughter and socializing going on...plus some great dart games too. Sue Charmin dressed up with a helmet and life jacket to further highlight the potential dangers of flying darts. Fortunately no one was injured and we are all looking forward to the next game in two weeks.
