A message from our President, Chris Cable

Dear reader,

As we say a final goodbye to summer and fall, I love the vibrant colours of the changing leaves and I look forward to all the cold weather events and activities being organized for us by our Social Committee. It’s time to get ready for snowshoeing, skiing and especially our Christmas Dinner Dance on December 8th. Come out and enjoy friends, invite someone to join you at the Christmas Dinner and – let’s have some fun!

None of this happens without the hard work of those who step up to serve on the Social Committee, Speakers Committee and those who take leadership roles on the Management team - a special thanks to all of you.

For those of you who are fleeing our Canadian cold on your annual winter retreats, enjoy and we look forward to your safe return in the Spring.

Chris

Upcoming Keynote Speaker

At the October meeting, Peter Jennings talked to us about the benefits to our health and well-being of being HAPPY and to be happy is very much a choice that we have. Continuing on the theme of health and quality of life, our November speaker will give us a naturopathic perspective.

Dr Shelby Worts N.D.

Dr Shelby Worts N.D.

As a naturopathic doctor, Shelby's medical training includes a focus on preventive medicine as well as using safe and effective techniques to restore health to your body.  Shelby's philosophy is to treat the whole person… physically, mentally and emotionally, using a variety of treatment modalities including clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy, psychological & lifestyle counseling, and acupuncture.  The body is an incredible healer when given the correct environment (dietary, lifestyle, spiritual habits) to do so.

Dr. Worts will be speaking on natural healthy living in retirement. She has been practising in Collingwood since 2004.
