Dear reader,

As we launch into the New Year, our 2018 Club calendar is already filled with many new events and activities organized by our awesome Social Committee. We can also look forward to entertaining monthly meetings highlighted with informative speakers.  

In Probus Mountain View, we are fortunate to be surrounded by a wonderful group people who have become our friends. Best wishes to everyone for a New Year that is filled with joy, good health and continued friendship.

Jerry and Sue will be leading another season of X-Country Skiing; however, details will be slightly different. We'll do more skiing at Scenic Caves this winter, but will vary the locations from time to time. .

Weekly downhill skiing at Blue Mountain

Weekly downhill skiing at Blue Mountain

 Starting the first week of January (weather permitting) I am trying to organize an every Thursday ski morning at Blue Mountain.  Members would meet at the bottom of the Village chair at 10 am and ski together for a couple of hours then break for a group lunch before going home.

Snowshoeing

Snowshoeing Wednesday 9:30 a.m. mornings during the season.  Dale and Duncan will start off the season with an easy 3 km hike.  Each week will be building up as we get stronger to about 6 km. We will get together for lunch after our hike.

First Tuesday of each month, October through May

The MVP Rockin Rollers bowling league meets the first Tuesday of each month September through May at 10:30 am at Georgian Bowl. It's a fun league with no skill required - just a sense of humour! Pay as you play.

Ingrid and Michael presented marvelous pictures and talked about their 48 day cruise visiting destinations across Four Continents. They regaled us with stories about Italy, Suez Canal, Petra, Singapore and Australia to name just a few. The cruise involved unique experiences including preparing for pirates and the initiation procedures for crossing the equator.

Jeff Monague of the Beausoliel First Nation band - January 11, 2017

The guest speaker for January 11th, 2018 will be Councillor Jeff Monague of the Beausoliel First Nation band. Councillor. Monague is former chief of the Beausoliel.
Jeff has been employed as a treaty research co-ordinator for the Anishinabek and will speak on native issues including the Renegotiation of the Narrows Treaty of 1838 (relating to the lands between Lake Simcoe and Coldwater).
