WEAR YOUR COWBOY BOOTS!!
Boots At The Bay is a registered line dance company based in South Georgian Bay, owned by instructors Kelly and Vic Borg, who live in Stayner.
Kelly started Scottish Country Dancing when she was 8 and competed successfully through her teens. She always planned to return to dancing after retiring, so about 10 years ago, she took up line dancing in Alliston as a hobby. Soon, her instructor asked her to fill in during vacations, and from there, things took off. Vic began joining some of Kelly’s classes, quickly learning the steps and sometimes teaching a fun beginner dance.
Boots At The Bay has been teaching in South Georgian Bay for five years, mainly in Wasaga Beach, Penetanguishene, Collingwood, and Alliston. Kelly and Vic teach seven classes each week for Absolute Beginners, Beginners, and Improver Plus levels. Their classes are open to adults 18 and older, but most participants are over 50, with a focus on movement and fun. They also lead workshops, parties, and corporate events. Recently, they opened the Girl Guides of Ontario and Nunavut 2025 Conference at Blue Mountain. Just a month ago, they attended the Crystal Boot Awards in Blackpool, UK, as part of the Canadian delegation. The event is known as the line dance ‘Oscars’.
Besides teaching, Kelly founded Step Up The Line©. Launched in July 2025, it is the world’s first e-learning platform for new line dance instructors. The platform is supported by the well-known Line Dance Foundation and has been adopted by instructors in Canada, the USA, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Iceland.
We look forward to showing the members of Probus Mountain View how to kick up your heels and enjoy the fun!
