It was a calm morning so the -5 degrees on the thermometer was very comfortable especially after we got going. It was nice to have the exclusive use of the Warm Up Shack at Scenic Caves to change our boots and wait for everyone to arrive.
The trails were practically deserted at 10 am and the couple of inches of powder that fell overnight silenced all movement along the trails. The Skaters (Frank Huggins and Jamie Macready) shot out of the gate and were not seen again until the warming hut. The Classic Sliders (Sue, Paul Darby, Cora and Adrian) covered 7.34 KM according to MapMyWalk in 1 hour and 37 minutes (and 427 calories)
